Grass
'Chainsaw Versus the Pampas Grass’ is a poem by Simon Armitage, which introduces the relationship between man made physical objects, with nature and the artificial world.
The poem begins with the speaker taking detail about a chainsaw and how he easily attacks the plant with the machine, especially the pampas grass. In the end, the speaker sets a fire to get the pampas grass ripped out of the ground. Unfortunately, the plant survives and by June it has regrown.
